Petr Stastny

Petr Stastny is an Associate Professor at Charles University's Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. He holds a Ph.D. in sport biomechanics of ice hockey and has conducted postdoctoral research on muscle activation patterns during resistance exercises and unilateral loading. His habilitation focuses on resistance training protocols. He has served as a Strength and Conditioning coach for the Hockey Club Kladno and is a methodical advisor for the Czech Ice Hockey Association.

His research interests include biomechanics of resistance training, unilateral training methods, reducing muscle imbalances, and ice hockey performance optimization. He has tested large cohorts of sub-elite and elite athletes in strength and conditioning metrics.

His recent work includes systematic reviews on ice hockey sprint performance, studies on resistance training adaptations, patented training equipment, and genetic influences on athlete performance.
