Petia Sice is an Associate Professor at the University of Northumbria's Computer and Information Sciences Department. She holds a PhD (1997) and multiple advanced degrees including MSc in Information Science (1985) and Computer Studies (1992). Her research focuses on wellbeing, healthcare technology, and integrative wellness models, with notable work on Qigong's health impacts and digital wellbeing screening tools. She has supervised 10 students and contributed to 45 publications, including studies on burnout risks in healthcare workers and heart rate visualization via the 'Heart Garden' project.
Research interests span wellbeing measurement, healthcare innovation, and alternative therapies. She has developed methodologies like 'My Personal Wellbeing' screening system and collaborated on trauma-informed care frameworks.
