Peter Worsley

Professor Peter Worsley is a faculty member at the University of Southampton, holding the title of Professor of Assistive Technology and Tissue Health within the Department of Health Sciences. He co-leads the Skin Health research group and serves as deputy programme lead for BSc and MSc Physiotherapy programmes, which have been nationally ranked since 2018.

• Research interests include Skin and Soft Tissue Health, Bioengineering, Healthcare Technologies, and Medical Device Design.
• Active research projects focus on pressure ulcer prevention, intelligent support surfaces, and biomechanical sensing, funded by EPSRC, MRC, and industry partners like Care of Sweden AB and Hill-Rom SAS.
• Recent articles explore dynamic seating systems, prosthetic design optimization, and skin stress monitoring, with keywords spanning Biomedical Engineering to Clinical Physiology.
