Peter Whalen

Peter Whalen, Ph.D., is the Ungarino Associate Professor of Marketing and Entrepreneurship Education at Ave Maria University. He holds a B.S. in Marketing from Florida State University, an M.B.A. in Business Administration from Saint Louis University, and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Oregon.

Whalen's research focuses on the intersection of marketing and entrepreneurship, particularly Service Dominant Logic, Co-creation, and Effectuation. He specializes in aiding new venture creation. His work has been recognized with awards such as the Gerald E. Hills Best Paper (2015) and acknowledgment as a top paper in the European Journal of Marketing (2014).

His articles explore strategic marketing, competitive advantage, and entrepreneurial processes. Personal interests include golf and being a lifelong Florida State Seminole fan. He is married with three children, including a son in college and a daughter pursuing medicine.
