Peter Weinert

Peter Weinert is an Assistant Professor in Music Education at the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, Kansas State University. Previously served as Director of Music at Trine University (Angola, Indiana), where he led the "Sound of Thunder" Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Chamber Orchestra. A native Kansan, he has extensive experience in K-12 music education and trombone performance.

• Bachelor of Music Education & Bachelor of Music (Trombone Performance) from Kansas State University
• Master of Music Education from University of Kansas

His research focuses on self-regulated learning in musical practice environments, including empirical studies of required practice durations, motivational frameworks, and vocalists' practice methodologies. Active presenter at international/national conferences and state MEA events.
