Dr. Andrew Lankford is a Professor of Trombone at James Madison University's School of Music, where he has taught since 2001. He holds a B.M. in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, an M.M. in Trombone Performance from the University of Kansas, and a D.M.A. in Trombone Performance from UNC Greensboro. His primary teachers include Randy Kohlenberg and Max Bonecutter.

Dr. Lankford has held prior faculty positions at Louisiana Tech University, Armstrong Atlantic State University, and the Sulzbach-Rosenberg International Music Festival in Germany. His expertise spans brass pedagogy, orchestral performance, and chamber music.
