Nora Wilson, D.M.A., is an Associate Professor of Low Brass at Brandon University’s School of Music. She specializes in trombone, euphonium, and tuba performance instruction, combining academic rigor with creative innovation. Her roles include clinician, adjudicator, and presenter at music educator conferences across North America.
Education: BMus (Western Washington University), MMus and DMA (University of North Carolina at Greensboro).
Research/Performance Focus: Experimental sound art (e.g., duo Wire + Bone), new works for trombone, and culturally engaged projects like the Canada Council-funded Sonic Dreaming collaboration with Peter Morin and Brendon Ehinger. She actively explores Truth and Reconciliation themes in music.
Community Engagement: Organizes Brandon’s annual TUBACHRISTMAS event, a festive low brass ensemble performance open to all skill levels. Coordinates rehearsals, performances, and educational outreach.
