Dr. Peter Taylor is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester's Division of Psychology & Mental Health. He previously worked as a lecturer at the University of Liverpool before returning to Manchester in 2016. His research focuses on self-harm, suicidal behavior, and psychosocial mechanisms such as shame and impulsivity, with a particular interest in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). Taylor holds a PhD and Doctor of Clinical Psychology from the University of Manchester, alongside earlier degrees in Psychology.

He has led projects like the Youth Culturally Adapted Manual Assisted Psychological Therapy (Y-CMAP) for adolescents.
