Daniel Pratt

Professor Daniel Pratt is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Manchester and an Honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. He specializes in suicide prevention, particularly focusing on psychological models of suicidal behavior and developing interventions for high-risk populations such as prisoners and individuals with psychosis. His work emphasizes cognitive behavioral approaches and has led to the development of therapies like the Cognitive AppRoaches to coMbatting Suicidality (CARMS) trial.

Education: He holds a PhD in Psychiatry (2006) and a Clinical Psychology Doctorate (2009), both from the University of Manchester. Earlier degrees include an MSc in Management Science and Operational Research (Warwick, 1995) and a BSc in Mathematics (Loughborough, 1994).
