Peter Streckfus

Peter Streckfus is a Professor at George Mason University (GMU) and teaches in the Pan-European MFA in Creative Writing at Cedar Crest College. He is an editorial co-director of Poetry Daily and the author of two acclaimed poetry collections: Errings (Fordham University Press, 2014) and The Cuckoo (Yale University Press, 2004).

Research Interests include:

• Linguistic innovation in poetry
• Interplay between nature and human consciousness
• Memory and domestic imagery
• Mixed forms and interdisciplinary approaches

Publications reveal a focus on lyric poetry, temporal themes, and experimental narratives, often incorporating elements of ecopoetry, art critique, and philosophical inquiry. Notable contributions appear in The New Republic, Bennington Review, Image, and The Adroit Journal.
