Peter Campion is a Professor of English and Creative Writing at the University of Minnesota, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts. He serves as Executive Editor of Unbound Edition Press, Editor-in-chief of Revel, and co-host of the Authors Unbound Podcast. A recipient of the Pushcart Prize, Guggenheim Fellowship, and Joseph Brodsky Rome Prize, his work bridges poetry, art criticism, and literary scholarship.
His research focuses on Poetry Writing, Prosody, Lyric and Lyric Narrative, and intersections between Poetry and the Visual Arts. Major publications include the poetry collections One Summer Evening at the Falls (2021) and Radical as Reality: Form and Freedom in American Poetry, alongside essays on modern art in venues like ARTnews and Modern Painters.
Recent articles explore interdisciplinary themes such as Derek Walcott’s Caribbean aesthetics (2022), Kay Ryan’s minimalist poetry (2024), and cinematic influences in literature (2024). His teaching and editorial work emphasize experimental forms and diverse voices through platforms like the Experiment Will Not Be Bound anthology (2022).
Campion actively participates in literary events nationally and internationally, including readings at the Los Angeles Times Festival (2022), New Orleans Poetry Festival panels (2025), and workshops at Castle Hill Center for the Arts (annual).
