Peter Stenvinkel is a Professor of Nephrology at Karolinska Institutet and a Senior Physician at Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm. He leads translational research focusing on metabolic, cardiovascular, and nutritional complications in chronic kidney disease (CKD), integrating biomimetic approaches with ecological and evolutionary insights. His work emphasizes planetary health, including dietary interventions and sustainable practices to combat lifestyle diseases. Stenvinkel has over 625 publications and an H-index of 93 (PubMed) / 119 (Google Scholar), with notable contributions in inflammation, uremic toxins, and vascular aging.
