Additionally, he holds the position of Medical Director of Dialysis at Norwest Private Hospital, Sydney.
Dr. Lee's research spans multiple areas of nephrology and related fields, with a focus on progression of chronic kidney disease, immunology, glomerulonephritis, dialysis, vascular calcification, acute kidney injury, preeclampsia and other obstetric outcomes associated with kidney disease, polycystic kidney disease, and eHealth interventions for CKD management. His work integrates clinical practice with basic science research across several major themes including Obesity, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease; Infection and Immunological Conditions; and Healthy Ageing.
Analysis of Dr. Lee's recent publications reveals a strong focus on innovative approaches to kidney disease management. His research spans clinical guidelines development, digital health interventions for dietary management in dialysis patients, genetic factors in lupus nephritis, perioperative risk assessment in patients with kidney disease, and novel therapeutic approaches for polycystic kidney disease. A significant portion of his work examines the intersection of kidney disease with pregnancy complications, particularly preeclampsia, and explores both traditional and novel interventions for improving outcomes in kidney disease patients.
Dr. Lee leads several active research projects including investigations into preeclampsia prediction and its relationship to kidney disease, diet and lifestyle management of kidney disease using eHealth approaches, midkine and kidney/vascular disease, and optimizing dialysis techniques. His international collaborations include work with McMaster University in Canada on the VISION study and with Cho Ray Hospital in Vietnam through a sister hospital relationship focused on educational and research networks.
