Professor Peter Sasieni is a Professor of Cancer Epidemiology and Co-Lead of the Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). He directs the Cancer Research UK Cancer Prevention Trials Unit and holds leadership roles in major grants including the NHS-Galleri trial and BEST4 platform. His research focuses on cancer screening technologies, HPV-related cancers, and oesophageal adenocarcinoma through clinical trials and epidemiological studies. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and recipient of the 2023 Don Listwin Award for contributions to early cancer detection.
Key research interests include multi-cancer early detection via liquid biopsies, cervical cancer elimination strategies, and the Cytosponge device for oesophageal screening.
