Peter Rom

Univ.-Prof. Peter Rom is a musician, composer, educator, and music producer affiliated with the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) since October 2022. He holds a Performance Diploma from Berklee College of Music and studied jazz guitar at the former Vienna Conservatory (now MUK). His roles include professor, co-founder of JazzWerkstatt Wien (2004) and JazzWerkstatt Records, and artistic director of their festival and label operations.

Research interests span jazz composition, ensemble performance, and music production, with a focus on contemporary and experimental collaborations. His work bridges jazz, classical, and electronic genres, reflected in projects like Peter Rom – Wanting Machine and Synesthetic4.
