Peter Ricketts

Dr. Peter Ricketts is a Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Science at Acadia University, where he teaches courses in natural disasters, geomorphology, and climate change. A geographer by training (PhD, University of Southampton, 1982), he transitioned from a 30-year senior academic administrative career—including roles as Acadia's 16th President and Vice-Chancellor and Provost at Carleton University—to full-time teaching. His research focuses on coastal and marine geography, oceans and climate change, and coastal geomorphology, with a particular emphasis on policy integration and international collaboration.
