Larry Hildebrand

Dr. Larry Hildebrand is a Professor and Canadian Chair in Marine Environment Protection at World Maritime University, serving as Head of Marine Environmental and Ocean Management. He holds an adjunct role in Dalhousie University's Marine Affairs Program. His expertise spans ocean governance, coastal management, and environmental policy.

Education: B.Sc. Hons (Marine Biology), M.ES. (Environmental Studies) from Dalhousie University; Ph.D. (Coastal and Ocean Governance) from Cardiff University.

Research & Leadership: Over 35 years in integrated coastal and ocean management (ICOM), with global consulting roles for UN agencies. Editor for Coastal Management and Ocean & Coastal Management journals. Leadership in NGOs like Coastal Zone Canada and the Elisabeth Mann Borgese Centre.
