معرفی
Peter Morganelli, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of New England's College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM). He teaches immunology and physiological sciences to osteopathic and dental medicine students. His research focuses on immune cell mechanisms in atherosclerosis, particularly immune complexes' role in lipoprotein metabolism in macrophages and animal models. He holds expertise in developing monoclonal antibodies for cellular analysis.
Education: Trained in physiology (neurophysiology, cell physiology, endocrinology) at Miami University of Ohio and Dartmouth Medical School, followed by post-doctoral training in immunology.
Research Interests: Investigates how immune cells contribute to inflammatory processes in cardiovascular diseases. His work bridges immunology, endocrinology, and cardiovascular biology, with emphasis on macrophage biology and lipid metabolism.
Funding: Secured grants from the American Heart Association, National Institutes of Health, and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs during his prior affiliation with Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine.
Teaching Philosophy: Believes education requires mutual engagement between teacher and student for effective learning.
