Reverend Peter Kurti is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Law at the University of Notre Dame Australia and Director of the Culture, Prosperity & Civil Society program at the Centre for Independent Studies. He holds degrees in Law (LL.B) and Theology (M.Th), and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. His work focuses on religious liberty, euthanasia debates, and civil society dynamics in Australia. Notable publications include Euthanasia: Seven Questions about Voluntary Assisted Dying (2022) and The Tyranny of Tolerance (2017). He frequently contributes to public discourse as a columnist and media commentator.
Research interests span bioethics, constitutional law, and the intersection of faith with secular governance. His recent scholarship critiques modern threats to religious freedom and analyzes ethical dilemmas in assisted dying policies. Kurti has co-edited volumes on Australian cultural identity and political direction, including Beneath the Southern Cross (2024).
