Peter J. Katzenstein is the Walter S. Carpenter, Jr. Professor of International Studies at Cornell University and a Visiting Research Professor at the WZB (Social Science Center Berlin). He is a leading scholar in international relations and comparative politics, with extensive contributions to the study of global power, culture, and political economy.
His research interests include:
- Power and uncertainty in world politics
- Civilizational identities and regional orders
- German and European politics
- Cultural norms in national security
- Protean and relational power
Katzenstein’s recent publications explore the decline of American hegemony, the role of time and space in global politics, and the dynamics of uncertainty.
