معرفی
Professor Peter Fuller is an Adjunct Professor (Research) at the Hudson Institute's Centre for Endocrinology and Metabolism and Head of the Endocrinology Unit at Monash Health. He specializes in molecular mechanisms of adrenocortical steroid hormones and endocrine tumor pathogenesis. His clinical and research training was in Melbourne, followed by postdoctoral work at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He has held leadership roles in major scientific societies and received awards from the Welcome Trust, Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and the Order of Australia (AM, 2015).
Education:
- MBBS (training details unspecified)
- Postdoctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital
Research Interests: Dr. Fuller's work focuses on:
- Molecular mechanisms of steroid hormone action in adrenal tissues
- Biochemical pathways driving endocrine tumor development
- Novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for primary aldosteronism and hypertension
Recent Research Trends: Recent publications emphasize advancements in diagnosing primary aldosteronism via novel tests (e.g., Captopril challenge) and optimizing mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist therapies. Projects include drug discovery for FOXL2-mutated ovarian tumors and large-scale screening trials for hypertension etiologies.
Awards:
- Member (AM) of the Order of Australia (2015)
- Endocrine Society of Australia Award
- Royal Australasian College of Physicians Award
Grants & Projects: Active leadership in国家级 projects such as the CONSEP trial and EQUIP initiative, totaling 16 registered projects. Notable collaborations include work with Monash Health, Cabrini Institute, and the Victorian Cancer Agency.
Labs & Teams: Directs the Endocrinology Unit at Monash Health and collaborates within the Hudson Institute's Centre for Endocrinology and Metabolism, fostering interdisciplinary research on endocrine disorders.
