Peter Dörpinghaus is a Lecturer for brass chamber music at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2023 and at the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden since 2025. He serves as principal trumpet of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin since 2016 and previously held positions with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and the Hamburg State Opera.
He studied in Essen and Hanover.
His primary research and performance interests are trumpet performance, brass chamber music, orchestral performance, and classical music. He is actively involved in the music scene through performances at major festivals including:
- Spannungen
- Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival
- Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival
- Rheingau Music Festival
He founded the brass ensemble Salaputia Brass in 2007 and regularly performs in chamber music ensembles.
