Peter Doran

Dr Peter Doran is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law at Queen's University Belfast and a member of The Senator George J Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice. His research focuses on climate change, environmental governance, rights of nature, and the attention economy. He has extensive experience with UN climate negotiations and has advised on Northern Ireland's wellbeing policy frameworks. Doran founded the Environmental Justice Network Ireland (EJNI) in 2020 to advance environmental justice and SDGs on the island of Ireland.

His teaching includes LLM modules on Law and Government, Corporate Governance, and Property Law. Notable awards include the 2007 Green Gown Awards for sustainability leadership. Doran has collaborated with institutions like the Carnegie UK Trust and Friends of the Earth, and his work bridges law, policy, and activism.
