معرفی
Peter Cresswell is the Eugene Higgins Professor of Immunobiology and Professor of Cell Biology and Dermatology at Yale University School of Medicine. He earned his B.S. in chemistry and M.S. in microbiology from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, U.K., and his Ph.D. in biochemistry and immunology from London University. His postdoctoral training was at Harvard University with Jack Strominger. Previously, he was Chief of the Division of Immunology at Duke University Medical Center.
His research focuses on antigen processing, MHC class I/II molecules, CD1d molecules, and interferon-induced antiviral proteins. Key areas include mechanisms of antigen presentation, cross-presentation by dendritic cells, and viral evasion strategies. He has made seminal contributions to understanding the role of tapasin in MHC class I peptide loading, the function of GILT in antigen processing, and the antiviral properties of viperin.
Dr. Cresswell holds prestigious awards, including Fellow of the Royal Society and membership in the National Academy of Sciences. His work has been published in top journals, with recent studies exploring CD1d-iNKT axis in infections, SARS-CoV-2 immune evasion, and cancer immunotherapy.
