Peter Clark is a Researcher at the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, University of Vermont. His work focuses on applied forest ecology, particularly on understanding forest regeneration dynamics under global change and developing adaptive silvicultural strategies to meet ecological objectives.
- Ph.D., Natural Resources, University of Vermont
- M.A., Geography, West Virginia University
- B.A., Natural Science, Hampshire College
His research spans forest adaptation, regeneration ecology, functional ecology, and biogeography. Current projects examine barriers to assisted migration, tradeoffs in forest management (e.g., carbon mitigation vs. adaptive capacity), and impacts of extreme climate on forest function. Previous work utilized dendrochronology to reconstruct climate, insect outbreaks, and wildfires, as well as cliffside ecology studies of non-vascular plant communities.
