Nicole S. Rogers is an Assistant Professor of Silviculture at the School of Forest Resources, University of Maine, since 2021. Her research focuses on silviculture as a tool to address societal, ecological, and economic objectives in temperate forest management.
- Ph.D. – Natural Resources, University of Vermont (2019)
- M.S. – Sustainable Forest Management, Oregon State University (2014)
- B.S. – Forest Ecosystem Science and Conservation, University of Maine (2010)
Dr. Rogers specializes in quantitative silviculture, natural regeneration dynamics, and applied forest ecology, emphasizing the integration of ecological principles into sustainable forest management practices. She teaches courses such as SFR 408/509: Silviculture and SFR 409: Silviculture and Forest Ecology Field Lab.
Her work explores how silvicultural techniques can balance biodiversity, timber production, and climate resilience in managed forests. She leads the UMaine Silviculture Lab and collaborates with forest stakeholders to develop adaptive management strategies.
