Peter Cattini

Peter Cattini, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Physiology & Pathophysiology at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. His research spans neuroendocrinology, reproductive endocrinology, and cardiovascular biology with recent expansion into cancer cell biology.

• PhD in Biophysics (1983) and BSc Hons in Cell & Molecular Biology (1979) from King's College London
• Postdoctoral training at University of California San Francisco with John D. Baxter and Norman L. Eberhardt

Research foci include:

• Neuro- and reproductive-endocrinology: pituitary growth hormone and placental lactogen regulation
• Cardiovascular sciences: fibroblast growth factor family in cardiac protection
• Cancer biology: targeting telomere maintenance in multiple myeloma

Collaborations with Drs. Elissavet Kardami (cardiovascular) and Sabine Mai (cancer) drive translational research. Awards highlight his mentorship excellence and sustained research contributions:
