Research Interests
Strunje's work explores the Christianization of mosques, maritime lazarettos, and Renaissance architectural models in the Eastern Adriatic. His studies often bridge historical topography with socio-political narratives, such as the assimilation of classical architectural language in Dubrovnik or the symbolic transformation of post-Ottoman monuments in Dalmatia.
Publication Trends
Over the past three years, Strunje has published extensively on 16th-century Dalmatian architecture, Venetian trade infrastructure, and the reinterpretation of sacral spaces. His works frequently analyze the intersections of cultural exchange, historical preservation, and post-Ottoman architectural adaptation, published in journals like Turcica and Convivium.
