Sandra Uskoković

Sandra Uskoković is an Assistant Professor at the University of Dubrovnik, Department of Arts and Restoration in Croatia. Her career spans international heritage preservation, with roles as an intern at US/ICOMOS (2002-2004) and ICCROM (Fall 2003), and as coordinator of the ICOMOS International Project on 20th Century Heritage (2001-2004). She earned her PhD in Architectural History and Heritage Preservation from George Washington University (2004).

• Research Interests: Theory of architecture, modern architecture, urban culture, performance art, cultural studies, and heritage.
• Leadership: Since 2015, she has coordinated the regional Balkan urban platform Urban Hum and served on the ICOMOS Scientific Committee for 20th Century Heritage.

Scientific Awards:

• UNESCO Fellowship (2005) for the Cultural Heritage Advocacy Program

Publications include three books (Modern Architecture in Heritage of Dubrovnik, Contemporary Design in Historic Settings, Architect Lovro Perković: Sensibility of Space Design) and articles in academic/artistic journals.
