Peta Spyrou

Dr. Peta Spyrou is a Lecturer at the Adelaide Law School within the University of Adelaide's Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics. Her research focuses on disability rights, education policy, and dispute resolution, particularly addressing systemic barriers faced by structurally vulnerable groups. She holds a PhD (conferred 2023) exploring disability discrimination complaints in educational settings and a First Class Honours Bachelor of Laws from the University of South Australia.

Her work includes collaborations with the South Australian Law Reform Institute and QUT's Centre for Inclusive Education. She has been a finalist in the University of Adelaide's Three-Minute Thesis competition and has published op-eds on disability policy in ABC Religion and Ethics and InDaily.

Dr. Spyrou has held roles as a Legal Research Officer at the Parliament of South Australia and Director of Equality Lawyers, providing legal support to people with disabilities. She is eligible to supervise postgraduate research as a co-supervisor and actively engages in teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate law programs.
