Pernille Hølmkjær

Pernille Hølmkjær is a medical doctor and PhD currently serving as a Postdoc at the Center for General Practice and External Lecturer in the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Her research focuses on deprescribing psychotropic medications for vulnerable elderly populations, particularly nursing home residents with dementia, alongside intervention development in general practice.

Her research interests emphasize deprescribing methodologies, identification of high-need patients in primary care, and mixed-methods intervention studies. She utilizes systematic reviews (quantitative/qualitative) and cluster randomized trials, with prior work on urinary tract infection diagnostics. Language fluency spans Danish, English, Portuguese, and basic Spanish.

Analysis of her 2023-2025 publications reveals dominant themes in dementia-related deprescribing, polypharmacy management in elderly care, and multimorbidity complexity in general practice.
