Susanne Reventlow is Professor and Head of the Research Unit for General Practice in Copenhagen and Region Zealand at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Department of Public Health. She maintains active clinical practice as a general practitioner while leading the Center for Research and Education in General Practice.
Education:
- Master of Arts in Anthropology, University of Copenhagen (1996)
- Medical Doctorate (Dr.Med.Sc) focusing on risk perception and osteoporosis in women (2008)
- MD, PhD qualifications
Her research bridges medical science and anthropology with emphasis on chronic disease management and multimorbidity in primary care. She pioneers patient-centered approaches examining perspectives, involvement, and communication across diverse populations including children and families. Her work integrates qualitative methodologies with interdisciplinary collaborations addressing risk perception, prevention strategies, and healthcare system challenges.
Recent publications (2025) demonstrate sustained scholarly output across eight high-impact studies spanning primary care accreditation, mental health collaboration, antimicrobial stewardship, and multimorbidity epidemiology. These works reveal consistent focus on real-world clinical implementation through mixed-methods approaches and international partnerships.
