Pere Palou Sampol

Pere Palou Sampol is a University Professor in the Department of Pedagogy and Specific Didactics at the Faculty of Education, University of the Balearic Islands, where he also serves as Vice Dean. A prominent academic figure since earning his PhD from UIB, his career spans several decades with significant contributions to physical education and sports sciences.

He has particular expertise in sports performance, nutrition as it relates to athletic activity, and the sociological dimensions of physical education, with teaching that emphasizes practical applications of theoretical knowledge.

Throughout his distinguished career, he has held significant administrative roles including Director of the Physical Activity and Sports Service of the UIB from 1984 to 2015. He has participated in more than 15 research projects and presented at over 100 international conferences and congresses.

Professor Palou Sampol actively mentors students across multiple programs, supervising final degree projects and master's theses in Primary Education, Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, and related graduate programs. His extensive teaching portfolio spans undergraduate and graduate courses in physical education pedagogy, sports methodology, health promotion, and body expression.

He is a member of the Research Group on Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (GICAFE), contributing significantly to the university's research efforts in this field.
