Peng Xiao

Peng Xiao, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics, Cell Biology, and Anatomy at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). He also serves as the Operational Director of the Bioinformatics and Systems Biology Core. His research focuses on genetics, cell biology, and anatomical studies with applications in neuroscience, biomedical sciences, and bioinformatics.

Dr. Xiao holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Creighton University and a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Hunan Normal University. His work integrates molecular techniques with systems-level analyses to investigate cellular processes and their implications in health and disease.

His recent publications explore topics such as neurocognitive impacts of tobacco use in children, exosome-mediated nerve regeneration, and age-related changes in cardiovascular tissues. These studies highlight his interdisciplinary approach to biomedical research.
