Ali Nawshad

Ali Nawshad is a Professor in the Department of Oral Biology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Dentistry. He also holds a Courtesy Professor position in the UNMC Department of Genetics, Cell Biology & Anatomy. His research focuses on cellular and molecular mechanisms in oral and craniofacial development, particularly involving Transforming Growth Factor (TGF) ß signaling.

Dr. Nawshad's educational background includes a BDS from The University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, followed by an MDSc in Oral Biology & Pathology and a PhD in Oral Biology from The University of Queensland (Australia). He furthered his training as a Research Fellow in Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School.

His research interests span three core areas:

• Mechanisms of Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) by TGFß in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC)
