Dr Paull Weber is an Adjunct Research Fellow at Curtin University's School of Management and Marketing within the Faculty of Business and Law. His work focuses on small business management, entrepreneurship, and tourism, with a particular emphasis on the unique challenges and strategies of small enterprises. He holds a PhD from Curtin University, alongside prior degrees (BCom(Honours), MCom), and brings extensive industry experience from his banking career supporting small businesses in Western Australia.
Teaching: Dr Weber specializes in small business management education, including a work-integrated capstone unit where students collaborate with business owners to address real-world challenges. He also teaches marketing principles and services marketing.
- Research Interests: Mature entrepreneurship, lifestyle vs. growth entrepreneurship, and small business success factors.
- Global Collaboration: Led a 50-country study on student entrepreneurial intentions through Curtin's partnerships.
Research Contributions: Over 30 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, including seminal works on small business scams, gender perceptions in SME success, and tourism sector innovation. Key publications explore entrepreneurial ethics, collaborative economy models in tourism, and cross-cultural entrepreneurship.
Awards and Recognition: Nominated for Curtin's Excellence in Teaching Award (2006), recipient of Divisional Scholarship (2002), and recognized as Best Second-Year Student (1999).
Advising & Grants: Currently unable to supervise research students. His prior banking career provided practical insights into business growth challenges.
