Dr. Shelley Beck is a Senior Lecturer in Business, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at the Oxford Brookes Business School, Oxford Brookes University. She holds a DCom (Business Management), MCom (Business Management) Cum Laude, BCom Honours (Business Management), and BCom (Marketing Management). Her teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate levels, covering modules such as Creativity for Marketing, The Entrepreneur, and Environmentally Sustainable Business.
Her research focuses on family businesses, entrepreneurship, and marketing, with an emphasis on societal impact. She co-leads the project "The discourse and practice of ‘hybrid work’, and the implications for productivity and wellbeing" (funded by the British Academy, 2024–2026). She is affiliated with the Oxford Regions, Innovation & Enterprise Lab.
Her publications explore topics like green social media marketing, hybrid work dynamics, and family business succession. Notable works include analyses of SME perceptions of climate change (2021), entrepreneurial wellbeing (2024), and the role of Ubuntu in innovation (2024). She has contributed to journals such as New Media & Society and Journal of Management and Marketing Review.
