Dr. Louis Geneste is a Senior Lecturer in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Curtin University's School of Management and Marketing within the Faculty of Business and Law. He leads undergraduate management programs specializing in innovation, entrepreneurship, and small business startups. With over two decades of small business ownership and HR roles at Curtin, his expertise bridges academic and practical entrepreneurship.
Education: BSc (University of Western Australia), GradDipOH&S, MCom (Distinction), PhD (Curtin University).
Research focuses on entrepreneurship education, social entrepreneurship, and small business dynamics. He collaborates on the Global Entrepreneurial Spirit Students' Survey (GUESSS) and leads Australia's student data analysis on entrepreneurial intentions. Key areas include design-led innovation, startup ecosystems, and HRM-based entrepreneurship studies.
Awards include the 2020 Curtin Faculty Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning and multiple teaching nominations. He teaches strategy, innovation, and startup project management across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Active in outreach programs like the National Indigenous Business Summer School and executive education in design innovation, he advocates for experiential learning and entrepreneurship education's societal impact.
