Dr Pauletta Irwin PFHEA is an Associate Professor at the School of Nursing, Paramedicine and Healthcare Sciences, Charles Sturt University. She is a Principal Fellow of Advance HE and a nationally/internationally recognized leader in healthcare simulation, digital health education, and reflective practice, with over two decades of academic and clinical experience.
Her research focuses on equity in healthcare education for rural/underserved populations, digital health innovation, simulation-based learning, reflective practice, and sustainable healthcare systems. Key projects include HealthiERSim® (simulated EHR platform) and SPROUT (reflective practice tool), impacting over 3,000 students annually.
Recent publications analyze AI integration in nursing education and rural healthcare co-design strategies. She has received multiple grants addressing mental health access, LGBT barriers, and rural workforce development. Awards highlight her leadership in simulation education, digital pedagogy, and ethical healthcare innovation.
