Dr. Paula Furtado Kohn is a Lecturer in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management (OBHRM) at the Social and Economic Research Institute. With expertise spanning law, energy sector compliance, and academic research, she holds degrees including LLB, LLM in Law, an MBA in Oil & Gas, and a PhD in Employment Relations within the wind power sector supply chain. Her career includes over two decades of teaching and course coordination in Brazil, alongside roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Sheffield University (2018–2023) and Research Assistant for the JUST2CE Project on Circular Economy at Sheffield University Management School.
Her research focuses on energy regulation, just energy transition, and interdisciplinary solutions blending social sciences with STEM. As a visitor member of the Centre for Competition Policy (CCP) at the University of East Anglia, she explores regulatory frameworks for net-zero transitions. In 2023, she founded SHAPE Circular Research Consultancy to integrate social, economic, and human dimensions into sustainable STEM initiatives.
Teaching responsibilities include modules on employment law, diversity, and strategic employee relations. Her consultancy work aims to bridge policy gaps and foster stakeholder collaboration for equitable energy solutions. She emphasizes accountability, mindfulness, and leaving an honorable legacy in her professional engagements.
