Paul Weaver

Paul Weaver is a Professor at the University of Limerick and holds additional professorships at the University of Bristol and leadership roles in institutions like the Advanced Composites Centre for Innovation and Science (ACCIS). His work focuses on structural mechanics of composite materials, morphing composites, and buckling analysis, with applications in aerospace, wind energy, and advanced manufacturing. He leads major collaborations such as the Vestas Wind Systems Preferred Partnership and the ORE Catapult Wind Blade Research Hub. Key contributions include pioneering research on variable stiffness composites, novel manufacturing techniques like Continuous Tow Shearing, and influential models adopted by industries like Airbus and NASA.
