Chiara Bisagni

Chiara Bisagni serves as Full Professor of Aerospace Structures and Computational Mechanics at Delft University of Technology's Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, leading Group Bisagni with over 105 publications. Her research pioneers adaptive composite structures for sustainable aviation, notably through the ERC Advanced Grant-funded NABUCCO project which reimagines buckling as a design feature for morphing wings.

Her expertise spans buckling analysis, fatigue/damage mechanics, and optimization of composite aerospace structures. Recent work focuses on nanoparticle-enhanced interfaces, hybrid joint performance, and uncertainty-aware design of tow-steered composites—enabling lighter, more efficient aircraft.
