معرفی
Dr. Mahdi Damghani is a Senior Lecturer at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) within the Department of Engineering, Design and Mathematics. His work bridges academic research and industrial application, focusing on composite and metallic structural analysis, additive manufacturing, and fatigue analysis. He holds a PhD from Cardiff University (2009) and has extensive industry experience with companies like Airbus, Rolls-Royce, and Bombardier.
Education:
- BSc in Civil Engineering, Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), 2004
- MSc in Structural Engineering, KNT University, 2006
- PhD in Composite Plate Buckling Analysis, Cardiff University, 2009
Research Interests: Dr. Damghani specializes in finite element modeling of composite/metallic structures, analytical/numerical structural analysis, additive layer manufacturing (ALM), and fatigue analysis. His work emphasizes practical applications in aerospace and structural engineering, particularly in optimizing composite materials' performance under stress and damage scenarios.
Grants and Projects:
- Design/Analysis/Optimization of Composite Structures (£30,000, Royal Academy of Engineering, 2019–2021)
- Experimental Study of Repair of Highly Loaded Composite Structures (£60,000, UWE Internal Funding, 2020–2021)
- Shape-Changing Bio-Composites via 3D Printing (£40,000, UWE Challenge Fund, 2022–2023)
Labs and Teams: Collaborates with industry leaders (e.g., Airbus, Rolls-Royce) and academic partners (Cardiff University, Queen's University Belfast) on projects involving composite repair, additive manufacturing, and structural optimization. Active in lab-based experiments and numerical simulations for aerospace material performance.
