He is also an Associate Researcher at the Center for Cultural Research, University of Western Sydney. Tabar has extensively studied the Lebanese diaspora in Australia, examining issues of racism, community leadership, and integration challenges.
His work explores the intersections of migration, identity, and politics, with a particular emphasis on how diaspora communities influence homeland politics and contribute to cultural exchange. Tabar's research employs qualitative and ethnographic methods to uncover the lived experiences of migrants and their descendants.
Tabar is the author of numerous influential publications, including books and journal articles, that analyze the criminalization of Arab communities post-9/11, the role of migrant capital in political systems, and the complexities of ethnic politics in multicultural societies. His research contributes significantly to understanding how migration shapes both sending and receiving societies.
His scholarly work has been recognized through collaborations with international institutions and invitations to speak at academic forums worldwide, including his visiting professorship at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz where he lectured on Lebanese migration and diaspora studies.
