Paul T. Rink is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law, Pace University, where he teaches Environmental Law, Torts, and Comparative Environmental Law. He holds a JD from Yale Law School and a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment, along with a BS from the University of Michigan.
His research centers on climate law, human rights, and sustainable policy, with a focus on net zero transitions and the social cost of greenhouse gases. He has published in leading journals and contributed to major academic volumes such as the Oxford Handbook on International Environmental Law and A Better Planet: Forty Ideas for a Sustainable Future.
His recent publications reflect a strong trend in climate litigation, comparative environmental governance, and human rights-based approaches to climate justice, particularly involving youth plaintiffs and international tribunals.

He has received notable honors including the Climate Law & Governance Essay Silver Medal (2018) and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa in 2010. Prior to academia, he served as a Global Staff Attorney at Our Children’s Trust, where he advised on international climate litigation and policy, including interventions before the European Court of Human Rights and the International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea. He has also worked on forest restoration in Australia and water policy in Sri Lanka.
