Osama Alkhawaja

Osama Alkhawaja is a Part-Time Lecturer at UCLA School of Law, where he teaches Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research. His research focuses on the First Amendment, civil protections during wartime, and legal realism. Alkhawaja also practices as a litigation associate at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP, specializing in government-facing litigation, antitrust, and plaintiff-side work.

• Education: B.A. in Political Science (Summa Cum Laude) from San Diego State University; J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where he served as Executive Articles Editor of the Chicago Journal of International Law and president of the Muslim Law Student Association.

Alkhawaja’s research explores constitutional law, civil liberties, and the intersection of legal realism with contemporary issues. His recent publications analyze anti-BDS laws, modern applications of Islamic law, and corporate accountability in international tribunals. His scholarly work reflects a multidisciplinary approach, bridging legal theory, human rights, and geopolitical challenges.

His articles highlight critical trends in constitutional and international law, including debates on free speech limitations, legal frameworks for conflict resolution, and accountability mechanisms for corporate entities during wartime.
