Paul Poast is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago, affiliated with the Committee on International Relations. He serves as Deputy Dean of Doctoral Education for the Social Science Division, Director of the Summer Institute for Social Research Methods, and Board Chair of the University of Chicago Library. His research focuses on international security, diplomacy, and political methodology, with notable works analyzing NATO dynamics, alliance politics, and the economic dimensions of warfare. He holds a PhD from the University of Michigan, a MSc from the London School of Economics, and a BA from Miami University.
