Professor Paul Lickiss (ORCID: 0000-0002-8507-9867) is a Senior Research Investigator at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Imperial College London. His research focuses on applied silicon chemistry, particularly organosilicon compounds and their applications in materials science and catalysis.
- DPhil, University of Sussex, Brighton, United Kingdom
Research Interests: The group investigates the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) using main group elements and organosilicon linkers, with applications in gas capture/storage (CO₂, H₂) and drug delivery. They also study siloxane-based extended ligands, cubic silsesquioxanes, and the use of bulky groups to enable novel reaction pathways in organosilicon chemistry. Fundamental studies of reaction mechanisms and Si-O bond-containing compounds (silanols, siloxanes) are ongoing.
Collaborations: Research partnerships include Dr. Rob Davies and Professor Jane Mitchel (NHLI) for drug delivery applications, and Professor Chris Braddock for catalytic amidation studies. Affiliations include Energy Futures Lab and Synthesis and Catalysis research groups.
