Paul LeBlanc is a Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at Brock University, located in St. Catharines, Ontario. He holds a Ph.D. from McMaster University and undergraduate/M.Sc. degrees from the University of Guelph. His research focuses on musculoskeletal health and the role of cellular membranes in muscle and bone diseases, particularly exploring phospholipid interactions in conditions like osteoporosis and muscular dystrophy.
Education:
- Ph.D., McMaster University
- M.Sc. and Undergraduate Studies, University of Guelph
Research emphasizes membrane structure-protein function relationships and skeletal muscle metabolic adaptations. He has reviewed grants for NSERC, CIHR, CFI, and the Barth Syndrome Foundation. His work is conducted through the LeBlanc Lipid Lab, investigating membrane composition effects on protein function.
Teaching includes courses like Advanced Regulation of Fuel Metabolism and Nutrition in Health Care. He actively supervises graduate and undergraduate research opportunities, focusing on lipid biochemistry and muscle biology.
Labs/Teams: Director of the LeBlanc Lipid Lab, which explores membrane-lipid interactions in health and disease.
