His work frequently examines the intersection of sociocultural factors with healthcare delivery and policy implementation, especially in low-resource settings across China, Africa, and post-disaster contexts.
Analysis of his recent publications reveals a strong focus on antimicrobial resistance in rural China, One Health approaches to disease prevention across Africa, sustainability frameworks that challenge conventional economic growth paradigms, and the historical transfer of medical knowledge between China and Africa. His work consistently bridges disciplines, connecting health systems analysis with cultural anthropology, engineering, and climate science.
Dr. Kadetz has secured significant research funding, including a seven-million-Euro grant from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research for the 'African One Health Network for Disease Prevention' (ADAPT) project addressing antimicrobial resistance across seven sub-Saharan African nations. He has published over 100 scholarly works including the co-edited volume 'Creating Katrina, Rebuilding Resilience' (Elsevier) and 'Handbook of Welfare in China' (Elgar), with a forthcoming 'Encyclopedia of Health Humanities' as joint Editor-in-Chief.
As a clinician, Dr. Kadetz is a registered nurse, adult nurse practitioner, and licensed acupuncturist, bringing practical healthcare experience to his academic work.
